[ WILLIAM: A FLOOD SURVIVAL COLLECTION]

Currently there are 1.81 billion people at risk of being a victim of urban flooding. A population that is currently without protection or self-reliant survival methods. Since clothing is what we have with us each day – carrying what we need for an unexpected life-threatening situation is a solution to the dire problem of survival facing our global population.

The concept of this collection is URBAN FLOOD SURVIVAL. I named the collection WILLIAM – a name that means to protect, to help and to aid. This collection is designed to not only protect but to give people the agency to help themselves and help each other.

PROJECT BREAKDOWN

1. All life jackets inside the garments are functional and removable                 to throw to people in need.

2. Drybags are built into a jacket to provide protection of valuables and perishables from flood water contaminants.

3. Waders are attachable to every pair of pants to provide safe walking through flood waters full of debris and contaminants.

4. Materials are waterproof, antimicrobial, abrasion resistant, seam sealed and constructed to provide protection from storm weather.

5. Each jacket is designed for a different temperature ranging from a lightweight windbreaker to a winter parka.

Designed for people to save themselves and to save each other. As the frequency of these floods rise, the more inundated rescue teams become – we must be able to help ourselves.

                             SAVE YOURSELF, SAVE SOMEONE.
